Discussing Immigration

Recently, some CCC members met with a volunteer from the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic in Ft. Wayne, IN. She shared that since the 2016 presidential election, requests for accurate, up-to-date information about immigration law had skyrocketed. She is working to create networks of faith-based and other community groups around northeastern Indiana to provide regular workshops. .

Meanwhile Salwa Alsuraimi, who gave one of our first CCC Presents talks, continues to work with Yemeni immigrants fleeing the war in that country. And on the news, immigration becomes an increasingly polarizing issue.

CCC may try to partner with both of these women in the future. But, what can you do now?  We believe that the first step is always to listen and engage others in open, honest conversation. Immigration will be the subject of our third deliberative dialogue at Cahoots at 7:00 pm this Thursday. Please join us. Let’s see what we can do together.
