Angola’s First Annual Pride Cookout Was a Success!

Fun games. Meaningful conversation. Delicious food. Great people. Supportive community members and businesses. These are just a few phrases that come to mind when I think of the Community Coalition for Change of Steuben County’s First Annual Pride Cookout on Saturday, June 23, 2018.  Feedback from other attendees seems to match that. There were multiple individuals who expressed both surprise and gratitude that Angola would host an event like this to support the LGBTQ+ community.  Several individuals remarked about how well-attended the event was—we had nearly 50 attendees! With such a success, we’re already looking forward to next year’s Angola Pride event!

Thank you so much to everyone who helped with planning and organizing the event, especially Jessica and Claudia, and to all those who attended.  A very special thank you goes out to Fort Wayne Pride, whose generous contribution allowed us to provide free food to all those who attended.  If you want to thank Fort Wayne Pride for their generous support and support the LGBTQ+ community further, consider attending and volunteering at Fort Wayne’s Pride Fest 2018 July 27-28.

We also want to thank Cathy for arranging for the leftover food to be donated to Street Reach for the Homeless.

If you attended the event, please email info@cccsteuben.com with any photos you took that you’d like to be part of a Facebook post.
