CCC Book Club: October 23rd from 6-7pm

Join us for the next CCC book club on racial justice issues Monday, Oct. 23rd at 6pm at the Carnegie Public Library of Steuben County. You can look at the sign upon entrance to see which room the CCC bookclub is in. We will be looking at the non-fiction book by Coates and an excerpt from Rankine’s poetry. More information on the texts for next time are below:
1) Ta-Nahesi Coates’ book Between the World and Me. What is it like to inhabit a black body and find a way to live within it? And how can we all honestly reckon with this fraught history and free ourselves from its burden? Between the World and Me is Ta-Nehisi Coates’s attempt to answer these questions in a letter to his adolescent son.

2) The excerpt from Claudia Rankine’s long poem Citizen that we will be thinking about can be found here:

Please join us on October 23, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the basement at Carnegie Public Library, 322 S Wayne St., Angola, IN 46703.
